Trying to go GREEN!

Well folks, it's official.  I am trying to go green. I have found a lot of help with this on Pinterest of all places.  I have tried several homemade cleaners, carpet shampoo, dryer sheets, and air freshners.  These were my project tonight.  I made several apple/cinnamon and one vanilla scented tonight.

Come on over and follow me on Pinterest and just in case you don't do Pinterest, below is the link to make these awesome homemade air freshners.

Also, my kids love and I mean love to paint in the tub and we all know how much bathtub paint can cost.  I am all about making it myself and I finally found a recipe.  I also made this tonight for my two little ones and it is amazing.  Not only did they have a blast with it, but it was easy for me to clean.  I found this on Pinterest too.  Below is the link if you would like to try this paint for your little one.

Mod Podge

I don't know how many of you have ever tried Mod Podge, but this stuff is great!  I am addicted to projects which require it.  There are limitless possibilities with it.   You can dress up practically any project and turn something old into something new.

Not to long ago, I discovered this project using a new product from Mod Podge called Dimensional Magic. Now, I have not tried this yet, but I have gathered the supplies I need and will be trying it soon and when I do, I will post my results.  I'm sure it will be well worth my time and effort.  It makes such a cute little project that you could use yourself or give as a gift.

How many of you have used Mod Podge for a project?  What was the project and how did it turn out?  Leave a comment and let me know.

New Year....New Outlook

Well here I am again!  I am so totally sorry that it has been so long since my last post.  I have been extremely busy with school, my little munchkins and life in general.  It has been a mad house around here, especially around Christmas.  Now all the hoopla is dying down and I can hopefully refocus and be better about blogging in the coming year.

In the recent past, I have found Pinterest.  If you have not checked it out, you should.  It has loads and loads of cool ideas and projects.  I have found so many useful things and things that I want to try.

I hope that everyone has had a Merry Christmas and will have a fabulous 2012.

L's 4th Birthday

Well yesterday, November 22, 2011, was L's 4th Birthday.  I can not believe it! How did four years go by so fast?  It seems like just yesterday I was holding her for the first time.  My labor was so long and so painful, but it was so very worth it.  God gave me a terrific daughter.  She is so smart and so caring and lively.

Her birthday went off without a hitch. We always let our children pick what they want for dinner on their birthdays, so of course, we asked L what she wanted.  She matter of factly stated hotdogs and chicken and that is all.  So, we had hotdogs and chicken and that was ALL.

She is not quite old enough to ask for a store bought cake.  I still make her cakes.  She wanted purple frosting, chocolate cake, scooby doo decorations and a candle.  That was it!  Well.....I did all that except the scooby doo decorations for the cake. I hunted high and low for them, but no store had them.  The one store I thought would have them, Party City, didn't!  I was so disappointed.  Anyway, I asked her what else she would like and she said princess.  So off to get Princess I went and found them.  Surprise, surprise.  Her cake was nothing fancy, but it was exactly the way SHE wanted it.

We usually don't go over board on gifts, but they usually get what they want.  L got what she wanted and was all smile.

After this picture, she wanted the bed topper on her bed.  So off we went and the following was the result.

Back to the three R's

Well it's that time of year again.  Fall is coming.  The weather is starting to get a little milder, leaves will be changing color soon and all the children are back in school.  My oldest Ashley and Kristy have been back in school since the first week of August and with them going off to school everyday, I started thinking that it is about time that my three year old start receiving some instruction.  She is too old for most 2 year old classes and not old enough for the 3 year old classes at preschool, due to her birthday being after the October cut off.

Therefore, I decided to scour the internet to see if a preschool curriculm was available for free online.  I searched and searched and finally found one at www.preschoolpalace.org.  They are given by months and are so well thought out and planned.  I have started using September's and I love it and so does my little buggy. My little man is also getting in on the action, even if it is just coloring.

Well I haven't been on in such a long time that I think later today I will try to post a tutorial. Thanks for being patient with me.  We have had a lot going on over the summer, but hopefully it is all calmed down now.
